The hotel is historic but well maintained. Being historic does come with some issues though. We stayed in what we found out was the "older" part near the cafe and front desk. It is not tranquil or quiet lol. You hear everyone walking up the stairs, all the doors slam shut, you can hear people talking downstairs, etc. They were vacuuming at 8am on a Sunday morning . If we were to stay again we would not stay in the same part of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and it's a cute town to explore.

The Forgotten Coast of Apalachicola is full of Florida history and the history of 1907 is found in situ at The Gibson INN… From the moment you walk in the door to check in, you’ll be amazed at the amount of effort put forth to capture the times of 1907. The year marks the completion of construction of The historic Gibson Inn. 2026 shows the grand efforts of the restoration with beautiful wood floors, stairs, and wood finishes and furnishings throughout the expansive property. The owners have perfectly captured the moment in time with hallways and interior designs using ship-lap & bead-board walls and distressed wood flooring to match the setting of the previous century. I felt the warmth of the South while strolling the Newly constructed buildings with wrap-around porches in front of 100+ year old meandering and Storm Ravaged Oaks and suites featuring balconies that overlook the quaint downtown marketplace of Apalachicola. My suite featured gold bathroom fixtures, tile bathroom floors and a double shower, the classic mini-fridge and coffee bar. While the reviews I read were mixed, I found the pool, Jacuzzi, new rooms in new buildings, cuisine in the Franklin Cafe and the Parlor Bar, and all amenities (free bicycles, golf-carts, and lounge) extremely welcoming, convenient, and enjoyable. It wouldn’t be proper if I didn’t mention the food. The Oyster Rockerfellers were amazing (mentioned in other reviews as well). We also tried the Fried Oysters, Shrimp Scampi, and Crab Cakes in The Gibson Inn restaurant, The Franklin Cafe. Other eateries we ate at were the Hole in the Wall (Raw Oysters), a changeup with outside dining (picnic table next to the Water Craft brewery), and we tried the Biscuit Factory-both great compliments to our trip. Overall, The Gibson Inn, in my expert Guide opinion, is one of the most unique, historic places to stay-right in the heart of downtown Apalachicola, Florida. This Gem tops the tourist-found and crowded Destin, the Rod & Gun Club in Everglades City, the boots and spurs found in Perry-Foley and River Ranch, Florida. If you love seafood and you want to avoid the crowd-visit the Forgotten Coast, Apalachicola, FL before it’s found and be sure and give The Gibson Inn, The Franklin Cafe, and the Parlor Bar a try. Wow!

Absolutely beautiful Inn! Such a lovely time here. Close to eating and shopping as well as St George Island. Bed was super comfy, but we did hear Captain Wood one night for those interested in the spooky side of the Gibson Inn. 10 outta 10 would recommend!

Beautiful inn. Love the original floors. Walls are a bit thin, and i think guests with pets should sleep away from guests without pets for noise purposes. Our windows blinds were bent and broken, but otherwise the room was in good shape. Bathrooms are beautiful. Hot water and great pressure, I think water has softener in it too. Our room only had a fridge, no microwave, but it was perfect for our one night stay. Downstairs stays busy in the evening.

Cute old Inn built in 1907. Rooms are nice and clean. Bathroom clad in marble... nice touch. The lobby and bar area is aesthically pleasing to the eye. Old school turn of the century charm. I expected the bourbon old fashioned to knock me out of my socks but it was really bad... way to sweet, and for $22 it should be garnished with good quality cocktail cherries (not what I got).

This is a great location in a very cute and walkable town -- Apalachicola is the perfect stop if you are in the area. The hotel itself is a beautiful old Inn and the new building keeps the classic styling while including all the updates and very comfortable accommodations. As their website advertises, the rooms are absolutely sound proof. These are some nit-picks, but their coffee service stops at 8am (none in room) and none of the ice machines worked -- it was definitely pricey for a cold winter month. The young women at the front desk when we arrived was lovely.

A boutique hotel with sections dating back to the early 1900s. The place was charming, well appointed and staff friendly, personable and willing to go an extra mile. Our room was in the oldest part of the complex and offered a wrap around 2nd floor porch shared with neighboring rooms. The room was very clean, rustic but elegant, and the bed was top flight. The room clearly had been modified to include the bathroom. It was cramped and had just one sink, so if roomy bathrooms are important it could be a concern. The only other tiny concern involves the porch. It is beautiful and enjoyable for the breeze and fresh air, but be aware it is a common area. We had guests next door sitting out through the evening talking and playing music on two separate nights. This is NOT the hotel's fault, but early/light sleepers need to take that into account. Except for that issue, time spent here was extremely rewarding and a pleasant stay is guaranteed! I look forward to my next visit!
